Añoro un tiempo
allá en Caleta
donde la vida
no era nostalgia
de alcohol y fiestas
puertas abiertas
y un parque bello
donde jugaba
Tardes dormidas
aromas de algas
lanchas poblando
las verdes aguas,
mientras un bote
tendía sus redes
y un lobo inquieto
lo acompañaba
Trabajadores
sembrando frutos
abriendo huellas
para el mañana
en pasarelas
o recibiendo
barcos insomnes
llevándose el alma
Mezcla de idiomas
y de costumbres
el mundo entero
tenía en mi infancia
gallegos tanos
o provincianos
y hasta un coreano
allá en la playa
Mas la langosta
arrasó con todo
matando verde
matando ganas
hasta las casas
fueron deshechas
junto con ellas
las esperanzas
Me fui buscando
mi propia historia
y tu recuerdo
me acompañaba
ahora te veo
sigues tan tierna
que las estrellas
danzan y cantan
No te acongojes
no desvanezcas
mujeres y hombres
aún te aman
mieles del cielo
agitan olas
para que vibres
y así renazcas

(*) Caleta Córdova esta situada a unos pocos km al norte de Comodoro Rivadavia. Era un típico campamento "ypefiano" (antes de la privatización de Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales en la década del 90). El poema tiene ya sus décadas.
Beautiful. May I translate it?

ResponderEliminarI long for that time
back then in Caleta
where life
was not nostalgia
of alcohol and parties
doors open
and a beautiful park
where I played
Afternoons resting
the smell of seaweed
motor boats populating
the green waters,
while a dinghy
spread its nets
accompanied
by a restless seal
Workers
planting fruit
opening tracks
for the next day
on gangplanks
or receiving
sleepless boats
taking the soul away
Mixture of languages
and customs
the whole world
had in my childhood
Spaniards Italians
or provincials
and even a Korean
along the beach
But the lobster
took everything
killing green
killing desire
even homes
were dissolved
along with them
hopes
I went looking for
my own story
and the memory of you
went with me
now I see you
still so tender
that the stars
dance and sing
Do not grieve
do not fade away
Women and men
still love you
honeys from heaven
move waves
so that you may vibrate
and be thus reborn

Caleta Córdova is located a few miles north of Comodoro Rivadavia. It was a typical "ypefiano" [Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales] camp (before the privatization of the Oilfieds in the 90s. The poem is already decades old.
